Surround sound issues

A quick question,I have a Sonos arc, sub gen 3, and also x2 era speakers used as a cinema surround system.iv noticed when watching the Gladiator film on a 4k Blu-ray Disc the sound format says DCM 5.1. But Iv noticed and compared that the surround sound doesn’t come through the era 300. but when I played the same film on Netflix on the same player the sound format comes through as Dolby digital plus 5.1. And the surround sound works great. iv tested a few blurays and the surround sound works fine, but I wondered why does the 4k blue ray disc have a different sound format and doesn’t work as good as a bluray or through Netflix??? can anybody help.

Moved - Now I cannot add Sonos Devices - Says Login as System Owner... I am!

I moved and now I cannot access any of my devices. When I hard reset them to add them it says I have to do a software update but I have to sign in as the system owner. I am the system owner?! This has been a very frustrating experience and based on messaged I have found online no one has an answer. Not sure why such a hefty price tag if the app is so difficult, especially for moving to a new house.

Airplay grouping not working with new app.

I can no longer group an AirPlay enabled Sonos speaker with a non AirPlay enabled Sonos speaker. I presume this is another drawback of the new app as I can still do this on my PC app which hasn’t been updated (and won’t be either!). I know the app has not been Sonos’ finest hour but I haven’t seen this particular issue mentioned so I wanted it logged. I don’t suppose there is any workaround until the app is replaced?

Sonos Playlists gone since app update

Like most of us, I’m a bit annoyed by the big app update. I want my sleep timer back soon please. But I’m fairly chilled about it.However I’ve just realised that almost all of my Sonos playlists have disappeared from the new app. There’s 4 left - used to be about 30. Among the missing ones is the playlist my 8 year old son carefully curates and manages. He doesn’t know it’s missing yet but he ain’t going to be happy when he finds out.Anyone else missing Sonos playlists? Any idea how I get them back??

Does the new Sonos app allow a rescan/update of the music library?

I can probably live with the updated Sonos app, but not if I can’t rescan and update my local Music Library. Half the music I listen to within my Sonos system exists on my network attached storage, which I add to regularly. In the new app I cannot find the manage/update library command that I have used for for years. Am I looking in the wrong places? Is updating the music library no longer allowed? No longer necessary? Although the Sonos App update is brutal (particularly when trying to program music for different rooms), the primary value of Sonos for me has been the ease with which I previously was able to access the thousands of music files I have stored on my NAS.

Latest SONOS update broke my systems ability to stream my music librabry.

The latest SONOS updates removed my local music library and now I get Error code 913 when I attempt to add it back. The worst thing thing is that I am trying to update my music library using exactly the same C: drive location that was working just a month before. **** SONOS Support ****I love the SONOS hardware that you build. I find the sounds quality excellent. I also feel I’ve paid a premium for the SONOS devices that I have purchased over the years. What makes me want to consider selling all of my SONOS devices is...your software updates. More often than not, the SONOS software updates seem to break existing functionality. I really struggle to understand why the SONOS team continues to release software updates that break existing functionality. Do you not understand what Q&A Testing means?? I now have to wait until June to get this functionality, that I’ve always had, back. This issue was caused by a mistake by the SONOS team. What’s the SONOS teams plan on compensating exi

When is Sonos going to take ownership of the disaster they have inflicted? Neither the PC app nor the phone app works right. I’ve lost my alarm capability. I spent at least an hour in chat trying to fix a PC app problem with function boxes opening off screen making them unusable. The support person kept asking what I wanted to do while ignoring the fact the boxes should appear entirely within the screen whether I wanted to do anything at all. I had to end the chat and call for level 2. I was told the estimated wait time was 70 minues. Sonos hung up after 63 minutes. The phone app doesn’t have the alarm function any more. I was told to use the PC app (see above). So, I have been suckered into buying hundreds of dollars of equipment just so Sonos can screw me over with their software.

iOS 17.4.1 cannot get passed "allow access to local network" in Sonos app ver 80.00.04

When selecting the button “Join an existing system” I am unable to advance passed the following message: “Sonos needs local network access for setup. In iOS settings, tap Local Network, then return to the Sonos app.” I have granted access to Local Network, Bluetooth, and Location. I have deleted the Sonos app from my iPhone 14 Pro MAX, restarted my WIFI router and reinstalled the Sonos iOS app, and I have shutdown and restarted my iPhone 14 Pro MAX. No Luck :( On my iPhone 14 Pro MAX the following Sonos System Settings section of the Sonos App reads:Nearby System: “Sonos system found on my {SSID} nework” and the “Join this system” button is available. When pressing this button the above message:“Sonos needs local network access for setup. In iOS settings, tap Local Network, then return to the Sonos app.” appears and I back in the same situation as pressing the “Join an existing system” Please let me know if I am doing something incorrect or if I need to do additional steps. Turntable Sound Quality

I just added a turntable to my Sonos setup via Sonos Port. Great news- everything added very easily and I was hopeful there wouldn’t be any sync/delay issues, which there aren’t. However the sound is drastically lower quality than listening to the same songs via Spotify, and especially Tidal and Amazon Music. Obviously the sound quality will be less using vinyl. But the difference is so drastic that it looks like my new record player will be for aesthetics only =PTo the vinyl pros out there- what’s your experience? I’m getting very little bass from my record player. Sound is not nearly as full. And the Sonos app doesn’t allow me to change the EQ by input, only per speaker. And I have my speakers tuned just as I like them for streaming, and I don’t want to have to adjust every time I switch to vinyl & back. thoughts???

Hi EveryoneWe moderators of the community - @Corry P, @Jamie A & @Sotiris C. - wanted to take an opportunity to explain some of what is currently happening on the community.First of all, we value all the feedback you are providing about the new Sonos App. We hear you. Feedback is coming in fast and thick, however - for understandable reasons - and to be frank, we are having trouble just keeping up with it all. For this reason, some topics that have not yet been replied to will go unanswered. We will, however, do our best to amalgamate some of these separate threads into bigger, related threads (such as one big thread for Alarm complaints and another for Queue Management) to be answered en-mass. Sonos Setup Not Working

Here‘s what happening:I choose setup new speaker I choose the Roam SL It says „There was a problem setting your Sonos Roam SL…Let‘s try something else“ Click Continue To continue, let‘s connect your movable device to the temporary network… I click Join Next your Sonos will play a chime… I click continue It plays a sound Says finalizing connection… “We‘re having trouble finalizing the connection to your Sonos Roam SL I click Try Again it fails again „We couldn‘t verify the audio passcode“6 I try then the PIN number This also fails „There was a problem during setup“ I‘ve tried restarting my device, I‘ve tried on both my iPad and my iPhone. Is this speaker just broken? What else can I try?
